ICA Corner

Hey, Rams! This is Emilee, the Inclusive Community Assistant (ICA) in Edwards Hall! I currently work at the Women and Gender Advocacy Center (WGAC) as their ICA and I wanted to update everyone on some of the new events going on.

  • Next Thursday, March 18, 2021, the WGAC will be holding its annual Feminist Thought and Activism Conference with a keynote speech from Ericka Hart. The one-day conference is an educational opportunity to engage in discussions about gender and social justice. Please
  • The WGAC is publishing its annual zine soon and is looking for student submissions. Please also see the attached flyer if interested! The WGAC also has a great Instagram account that features many campaigns and events. Their page can be found at @csu_wgac.

Rams Aren’t Reading

Attendance has been low for weekly Rams Read sessions. The ICAs completely understand that there is a lot going on and we want to address some concerns in case the reason stopping you from joining us is intimidation or misinformation.

  • Rams Read is a weekly initiative where residents and ICAs from different residence halls discuss Claudia Rankine’s book Citizen in an effort to combat anti-Blackness in our community.
  • You DO NOT need to have the book or have read it
  • We unpack passages or topics from the book TOGETHER
  • A typical session includes introductions, an informative piece, reviewing quotes from the book, reflections from the ICAs, reflections from the residents, and a wrap up!

We hope to see more of you on Tuesdays at 5pm and Thursdays at 3pm!
