University Village 1600 & 1700 CAM-Unity – November 2025
❄️ Snow Season at University Village ❄️
Did you know?
Winter weather is right around the corner! As snow begins to fall, remember that residents are responsible for keeping their patios, balconies, and entryways clear of snow and ice. Keeping these areas safe helps prevent slips and falls and makes it easier for maintenance and emergency staff to access apartments when needed.
Snow Shoveling Tips
- Shovel early and often. Fresh snow is much easier to clear than packed or frozen snow.
- Push, don’t lift. Use your legs, not your back to avoid strain.
- Dress warmly and wear boots with traction. Gloves and waterproof footwear make a big difference!
- Work in short intervals. Take breaks to warm up and stay hydrated, even in cold weather.
If you need a shovel, you can borrow one from your area CC during office hours. Please return it when not in use so others can use it, too!

Using Ice Melt Safely
Ice melt is available for free at your area CC apartments and at the front desk of the UV-1600 Community Center. Remember, a little goes a long way! Sprinkle lightly over icy areas rather than pouring it on. Using too much can harm nearby plants and grass over time.
💡 Tip: Once the ice has melted, sweep up any leftover ice melt to keep walkways clean, safe, and to prevent damage to vegetation.
Community Reminder
Help keep our sidewalks safe for everyone! Staying proactive helps prevent accidents and keeps our community warm and welcoming all winter long.
Stay safe, stay cozy, and enjoy the season! ☕❄️
