Eco Actions Campaign

Fall 2021 Eco Actions Campaign

Colorado State University’s annual Eco Actions Campaign began on September 12th! If you live in one of the residence halls or Aggie Village, take on the challenge by pledging to engage in sustainable behavior choices for the chance to plant trees and/or win a prize!

Colorado State University prides itself on being a national leader in sustainability, and this is due to the contribution of its beloved students. To help educate students to be more sustainable, each year Housing & Dining Services launches a 6-week program to provide students with the knowledge and tools to become better stewards of the environment. In addition to posting weekly “Green Tips” throughout the residence halls and Aggie Village, Housing and Dining Services invites students to take part in a pledge to take simple actions such as turning off lights, using alternative modes of transportation, taking shorter showers, using LED lights, and so much more.

Each action that students pledge to take is associated with a certain number of points, the total of which determines which prize you can receive or how many trees you can plant! For example, having a total of 0-24 points you can choose to receive a reusable spork or plant one tree, 25-49 points for a bamboo toothbrush, recycled bike tube pouch, or plant two trees, 50-75 points for a fair-trade t-shirt or plant three trees, and finally, 75-100 points you can choose a set of wool dryer balls or plant 4 trees!
